Grandfather's Clock 원곡은 1876년 헨리 클레이 워크(Henry Clay Work)가 1876년에 작곡한 Grandfather's Clock 이라는 미국동요. 할아버지가 태어나시던 아침부터 한번도 쉬지않고 째각거리던 시계가 할아버지 돌아가시던 밤 멈추었다는 내용의 가사가 붙어 민요로 불려지고 있고 각 나라에서 여러 버전으로 많이 번안 되어왔다 쉽게 접할수있는 곡은 히라이켄과 미국민요풍 노래, 그리고 동요풍, 히라이켄노래, 리트머스, 그리고 리트머스의 할아버지 시계와 simply sunday의 "사랑해요"가 많이 알려져 있다. It was bought on the morn of the day that he was born, And was always his treasure and pride.
