Anita Kerr Singers 'Anita Kerr Singers'는
1927년 미국 테네시주 출생의 여성 메인 보컬인
'애니타 커'를 중심으로 결성된 컨트리 사운드 그룹으로
1964년 비행기 사고로 사망한 컨트리 뮤직의 대가
'짐 리브스'의 오리지널곡'Welcome To My World'를 리메이크 하여
히트 시키기 전 까지는각각 30여장의 싱글과
정규 앨범을 발표 했음에도 불구하고 우리나라에선
그다지 크게 알려지지 않은 그룹이었다
그러나 불의의 사고를 당한 선배 가수의 추모 헌정 앨범으로 만든
이 노래가 마치 꿈결같이 신비롭고 감미로운 천상의 하모니로
탈바꿈해 곧 많은 팝 팬들의 뇌리에 각인시킬 정도로
큰 감흥을 주었는데 이 노래가 자연스럽게
우리나라에 홍보가 된 이면에는 예전에 한동안 방송을 탓던
대한항공의 CM송이 큰 역할을 한 때문이다
비행기 사고에 대한 후일담이 숨어있는 이 노래를
굴지의 항공사가 광고 음악으로 채택하여 회사 이미지 홍보를 위해
역설적으로 인용했는지는 알수없지만'Welcome To My World'의
동반 홍보 효과까지 얻게 일조해 준것만은 분명하다
